Kathmandu same store sales improve, margins decline

Kathmandu Holdings said same-store sales, those through stores owned 12 months or more, rose 1.5 percent in the 26 weeks ended Jan. 26, although margins have declined.However, Kathmandu's statement confused the reporting period by also stating it will post a 40 percent earnings boost for the half-year ended Jan. 31, thanks to the A$350 million Rip Curl acquisition completed late last year.
