Listed retailers are shifting their goal posts as a mild autumn and warmer-than-anticipated winter have hit sales.On Tuesday, The Warehouse Group downgraded its earnings guidance, opening the door to a full-year loss. While it reported a 2.2% lift in third-quarter sales from a year earlier, the group said to date sales in the three months to Aug 3 had been subdued by a “delayed winter”. According to the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (Niwa), May was the 10th warmest since records began in 1928.
