Home appliances and furniture retailer Smiths City has been placed in voluntary administration, and all nine Smiths City stores and online shop have been temporarily closed.The company has allegedly faced increasing financial pressures in a challenging economic environment.Despite closures of some stores and other downsizing measures, declining sales led the company's director, Colin Neal, to decide that trading could no longer continue.Smiths’ City entered an agreement to be sold for $60 million to Polar Capital in 2020. At the...
