Advances in technology are making New Zealand retailers increasingly susceptible to scams designed to steal their business.One particular grift, which involves scammers duplicating retailers' websites, is becoming more prevalent, according to Retail NZ chief executive Carolyn Young.Scammers find a domain name similar to a retailer's website and set up an e-commerce store with the same branding and range of products, often for far less money to entice consumers.“They purport to be the business then change the pricing on the [fake]...
