Medical Kiwi cannabis firm closes in on initial crowdfunding target

Medicinal cannabis and nutraceutical start up Medical Kiwi kicked off its $3 million crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe yesterday, securing more than $401,000 from 178 investors by early afternoon today. Pledges had hit $120,000 within the first hour, of a baseline target of $500,000, said Aldo Miccio, chair of the Nelson-based company.
