Amazon Web Services (AWS) plans to launch what it calls a cloud ‘local zone’ in Auckland within the next two years as part of a companywide plan for 32 zones globally across 26 cities.This will be a new physical network infrastructure designed to improve cloud performance for AWS customers in New Zealand.In September, the company announced a $7.5 billion commitment to build datacentre infrastructure in NZ, but those three locations are not expected to open until 2024.Tiffany Bloomquist, AWS’ new country manager who replaced Ni...
