New contender trying to dial into NZ’s smartphone market

Apple and Samsung have dominated the New Zealand smartphone market for over a decade, accounting for 80% of the market in 2023.But amid the fractured remaining 20%, new entrant Oppo has been sneaking up the ranks, currently sitting in third place with around 10% of the total market.The Chinese brand has managed to wedge itself into the market as the third player and, according to Oppo's NZ country manager Morgan Halim, it's dedicated to continuing to grow that share.He said that as other brands had come and gone from NZ, Oppo had gained...
