RBNZ confirms data breach occurred on Christmas Day

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has confirmed it was hacked on Dec. 25, five days after a patch was available to fix the vulnerability.The breach of third-party software supplier Accellion’s legacy FTA file transfer software has embarrassed the RBNZ, with confidential customer data downloaded.
