A United States federal judge has ordered parties to attend mediation in an employment case involving a New Zealand government agency’s San Francisco office.Daniel Brown, a former American employee of NZ Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), filed legal proceedings alleging that the agency discriminated against him for taking leave to care for his disabled mother.Brown’s complaint was filed in the San Francisco County Superior Court in Dec 2023, but NZTE successfully applied for it to be moved to federal court on the grounds that it involved...
