Air New Zealand has announced the cancellation of its on-market share buyback programme, effective from November 25, 2025.

The programme, which began in March 2025, allowed for the repurchase of up to $100 million worth of shares over a 12-month period.

The airline said it has already acquired approximately 133 million shares for a total cost of $80m.

The decision to cancel the buyback programme is based on Air New Zealand's expectation of being within the liquidity target range set in its capital management framework by the end of the 2026 financial year.

The airline said it will continue to manage capital in line with the framework and preserve flexibility for future opportunities.
