Avril Baynes named SkyCity Adelaide's managing director

SkyCity Entertainment has announced the appointment of Avril Baynes as the managing director of its Adelaide operations.

Baynes, who is currently the interim chief operating officer for Australia, will assume her new role on September 16, 2024.

She has been with SkyCity since 2015, initially serving as an executive manager at the SkyCity Darwin casino.

After a brief period away, she returned to the company in November 2023 as the general manager of hospitality at SkyCity Adelaide.

In her new position, Baynes will be responsible for overseeing SkyCity's Adelaide business and the Australian inter-state gaming business.

The company said she will continue to prioritise uplift activities in Adelaide and work closely with regulators.

As a result of this appointment, Baynes will no longer meet the definition of a "senior manager" under NZX Listing Rules, but she will remain a member of SkyCity's senior leadership team.
