Chatham Rock Phosphate Limited has been granted an exploration permit for 196 square kilometres south of Phosphate Hill, Queensland, called Korella South.
The area is highly prospective for rock phosphates and rare earths, and is expected to attract the interest of major players in the rare earths industry.
Chatham through its subsidiary, Pacific Rare Earths Limited, will manage the rare earths exploration and will also take the lead in the exploration for selenium in the Tambo and Gunnerside exploration areas.
