Downer EDI has secured a new contract with the Australian Department of Defence, valued at approximately $3.05 billion.
The contract, which is part of Defence's Base Services Transformation program, will involve the delivery of base and estate services.
It has an initial term of six years, starting in February 2026, with the possibility of two extension options of one to three years each.
This means that the maximum term of the contract could be up to 10 years.
Under the contract, Downer will be responsible for facilities maintenance operations, aerodrome operations, land management, training area and range management, and integration services in the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory regions, as well as the Queensland region.
This represents an expansion of Downer's geographical footprint compared to its previous Estate Maintenance and Operation Services contract.
Downer has been a partner of Defence for more than 80 years, providing sustainment, infrastructure, and estate services.
