Fletcher Building has announced that it is exploring potential divestment options for its construction division and certain business units, including Higgins, Brian Perry Civil, and Fletcher Construction Major Projects.

The company said it has received inbound interest and has completed a strategic review.

Fletcher Building's managing director and chief executive, Andrew Reding, said the quality and recent performance of the construction businesses, as well as their role in New Zealand's infrastructure pipeline, attracted this interest.

However, he emphasised that no decision to sell has been made yet, and the company will carefully consider the value of any options presented.

Fletcher Building said it has commenced the process of exploring divestment options and may appoint financial advisers.

Further updates will be provided as required.
