Garry Moore elected PGG Wrightson's independent chair

Garry Moore has been elected as the new independent chair of PGG Wrightson's board.

The decision, made by a majority, is aimed at having a New Zealand resident chair to work closely with the senior management team.

Moore's appointment comes ahead of the company's half-year results, which are scheduled to be released on Feb 27.

U Kean Seng, who had been serving as the overseas-based acting chair since July 2023, will remain a non-executive director.

Sarah Brown will continue in her role as independent deputy chair.

In response to a request from Agria (Singapore) for a special shareholders meeting, the board has initiated a nominations committee to consider the proposed board changes.

The directors have been asked to provide full disclosure of their credentials to the committee.

The board also expressed its willingness to engage in good faith discussions with Agria.
