Meridian Energy has reported an increase in national hydro storage and higher-than-average inflows for October.
As of Nov 11, 2024, national hydro storage was at 139% of the historical average, up from 115%.
South Island storage reached 145% of the average, while North Island storage increased to 116%.
Meridian's monthly total inflows for October were 128% of the historical average.
Inflows in the Waiau catchment were 122% of the average.
The company's retail sales volumes in October were 0.6% lower than the same month last year.
However, there was a 20.5% increase in segment sales for large businesses.
National electricity demand in October was 4.4% lower than in the previous year.
