Santana Minerals has announced that the New Zealand Parliament has passed the second reading of the Fast-track Approvals Bill.

This development brings the regulatory process one step closer to becoming law.

The company expects the bill to be passed before the end of the year, after which it will have a better understanding of the requirements for submission into the fast-track process.

Santana anticipates making its submission for approvals in mid to late February 2025, with a maximum review period of 120 days.

However, the company noted that if the scale or nature of the application is such that the panel is unable to issue its decisions within that time frame, the panel may extend the time frame as it considers appropriate.
