Westpac has announced the appointment of Peter Herbert as its new chief transformation officer.

Herbert, who previously served as the acting chief executive of business and wealth, will be responsible for driving transformation across the Westpac Group.

This includes overseeing the delivery of the business-led simplification program, UNITE, as it moves from the planning to the implementation phase.

Herbert will report to Westpac chief executive Anthony Miller.

He will also continue to act as the chief executive of business and wealth until the arrival of Paul Fowler in May 2025.

Herbert has extensive experience in managing major transformation projects, having spent nearly 20 years at HSBC.
