South Port chief executive officer, Nigel Gear, has announced his intention to step down from the role after eight years.
Gear, who has been with the company for more than 30 years, cited his deep roots in the port industry and extensive experience in commercial, operational, financial, and warehousing functions.
Under his leadership, South Port said it has achieved growth and resilience through cargo diversification and strategic infrastructure investment.
The company said the recruitment process for a new CEO will begin in early 2026, with Gear's departure expected in the second quarter of 2026.
