South Port CEO to step down in 2026

South Port New Zealand Limited advises that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Nigel Gear, has informed the Board of his intention to step down from the role after 8 years of dedicated leadership.

After more than 30 years with South Port, Nigel has developed deep roots in the port industry and has extensive experience across commercial, operational, financial, and warehousing functions. Under his leadership, the Port’s growth and resilience have been strengthened through cargo diversification and strategic infrastructure investment.

The Board will commence the CEO recruitment process in early 2026, with Nigel’s departure expected to take place in the second quarter of 2026.
