Tony Mortensen has been appointed as a director of Promisia.
Mortensen, who has over 20 years of leadership experience, will chair the company's audit and risk committee.
He currently serves in the building and construction industry and has previously held positions in finance and management.
Promisia described Mortensen as an independent director.
Meanwhile, director Jill Hatchwell will be stepping down from the board after next month's annual shareholders' meeting.
At the meeting, Mortensen will retire and offer himself for re-election.
Promisia is a New Zealand-based aged care and retirement living provider.
