Integrated services provider, Ventia, has secured a $564 million contract for firefighting services with the Defence department.

The 6-year deal, which includes options for extension beyond 2030, will begin in 2024.

Ventia, which already has the largest privatised firefighter force in Australia, said the contract represents a "transformation in scale and commitment to integrated working".

It will cover a range of services including airfield, structural and bushfire response, emergency and rescue services, fire training and hazmat response.

Ventia's group executive defence and social infrastructure, Derek Osborn, highlighted the company's ongoing partnership with Defence across various portfolios.
