Ventia will continue its strategic partnership with Defence after securing a 6-year, $564 million contract for Firefighting Services today. The new contract will commence in 2024 and has options for extension beyond 2030.
The contract represents a transformation in scale and commitment to integrated working, with a service offering providing value for money for the Commonwealth, Defence and Ventia. It encompasses airfield, structural and bushfire response, emergency and rescue services, fire training and Hazmat response.
Ventia has the largest privatised firefighter force in Australia and has been responding to Defence emergencies since 1999. With the award of this Firefighting Services contract, Ventia’s Firefighting force grows to a team of 370 people, including 309 qualified Firefighters.
Ventia Group Executive Defence and Social Infrastructure Mr Derek Osborn says Ventia continues to be Defence’s leading industry partner across a number of portfolios.
“From airfield, structural and bushfire management to emergency and rescue services, our sustainable support solution generates compelling client value by enabling Defence to focus on its strategic objectives,” Mr Osborn says.
“This contract award is testament to the commitment and value we generate by protecting those that train to protect us. We are very proud to further strengthen our partnership with Defence with this new contract and retaining our role delivering these services. Our dedicated team are committed to continuing to redefine service excellence for this long-term client.”
