Sky welcomes new independent director, Mark Buckman

Sky Network Television Limited (Sky) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Buckman as an independent director on the Sky Board.

Mark is a highly skilled business leader based in Australia with a deep background in technology digital innovation, marketing, media and broadcasting, and customer engagement. His executive career has spanned North America, UK/Europe, and APAC, with roles at Foxtel, Telstra, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and McCann. He is a Senior Advisor to Accenture, and his governance credentials include the boards of OzTAM, the Australian free-to-air television consortium, technology start-ups and social enterprises.

Chair Philip Bowman welcomed the appointment, saying: “Following an independent Board evaluation last year, we have run a comprehensive search process to identify candidates for the Sky Board who bring particular skills to the table. Mark Buckman is a highly respected marketer, business leader and digital innovator, with direct experience in the media and broadcasting sectors as well strong advisory and governance credentials. We are delighted that he has agreed to join the Sky Board.”

Mark said: “Sky is at an exciting stage of its transformation, and it is a privilege to be joining the Board as we continue the drive towards building a strong, sustainable business that delivers superb experiences for our customers and is the preferred aggregator in the New Zealand market.”

Mark Buckman joins the Sky Board with immediate effect and will seek election by Sky’s shareholders at Sky’s next AGM in November 2022.

As required by NZX Listing Rules 2.6.1 and 2.6.2, the Board has determined that Mark Buckman is an independent director.
