The Chair of Rua Bioscience Ltd (NZX: RUA), Mr Trevor Burt, and the Rua Board are delighted to announce the appointment of Teresa Farac-Ciprian as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective 1 August 2022.

This appointment reflects Rua’s decision to supplement its Board’s skill base as the company nears export market entry with its first products.

Teresa has an exceptional background in commercialisation, innovation, marketing and business development in the primary sector, specifically with dairy products, functional beverages and other foods on the global stage. She has significant international business experience, having held a variety of senior roles for Danone based in both North America and France focusing on their domestic and global markets. Teresa has also advised a number of internationally-focused businesses on their growth strategies and brings strong governance capability having served on the boards of Firstlight Foods Ltd, AgResearch, Prolife Foods, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand and Zespri. Teresa has a track record of helping develop highly capable leaders, strong brands, accumulation of IP and seeing organisations flourish through continuous improvement.

As required by Listing Rule 2.2.2 the Board has determined that Teresa is an independent director. Teresa will be eligible for re-election at the 2022 AGM.
