Announcement of Director Retirement

The Board of Directors of Rua Bioscience Limited (NZX: RUA) advises that Mr Martin Smith has decided to retire as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Martin’s retirement will be effective at the conclusion of the 2022 Annual General Meeting scheduled for October 12, 2022.

Martin joined the Board of Directors in 2018 and is currently the Chair of the Nominations and Remunerations Committee.

Rua’s Chair Mr Trevor Burt, on behalf of the Board, expresses his sincere appreciation of Martin’s significant contribution to the company during his five-year tenure. Mr Burt said that ‘it is quite a career milestone for Martin to join our founders when the business was at the conceptual stage and to be a key part of the governance team who guided the business through to an NZX listing and readiness for export markets. We wish Martin all the best for his future.’

Martin Smith’s retirement is consistent with the Board’s succession plan and follows the recent appointment of Teresa Farac-Ciprian as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Teresa brings an exceptional background in commercialisation, innovation, marketing and business development – skills particularly relevant as the company nears export market entry.
