Genesis Appoints Chief People Officer

Genesis Energy is today confirming the appointment of Claire Walker as Chief People Officer (CPO). She will commence her role on 3 April 2023.

Claire will join Genesis from her current role as Chief People and Culture Officer at SkyCity Entertainment Group, a position she has held since 2016. She has previously held senior human resources positions at Sanford Limited, Carter Holt Harvey and Downer. Claire holds a governance role, as Deputy Chair, on the advisory board of the Sustainable Business Council in New Zealand.

She is a graduate of Massey University and Christchurch College of Education.

Incoming Chief Executive, Malcolm Johns, said he is thrilled about Claire’s appointment and very much looking forward to working with her, alongside the rest of the executive and the wider Genesis team.

The Company has also appointed an interim CPO. Sara Broadhurst will commence on 16 January 2023 and remain in the role until Claire Walker’s arrival.
