DOWNER AWARDED AUSNET GAS SERVICES CONTRACT EXTENSION

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) today announced it had been awarded a further three-year extension to its gas services contract with AusNet Services (AusNet), valued at approximately $200 million.

Commencing in April 2026, and following the completion of the current contract term, the contract extension will see Downer continue to provide operations, maintenance, asset replacement, capital works and meter reading services across AusNet’s entire gas distribution network.

The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Peter Tompkins, said the extension was testament to Downer’s outstanding performance on AusNet’s gas network for more than a decade.

“Downer has a strong and long-standing relationship with AusNet, having managed their gas distribution network since 2013,” Mr Tompkins said.

“This extension demonstrates our ability to deliver best-in-class solutions for our customers with a focus on safety, efficiency and reliability. Whether it is planned work, unplanned fault repairs, meter services, new connections or mains replacements, Downer’s 24/7 operations ensure we effectively manage and maintain AusNet’s network, serving more than 790,000 end-customers.”

Authorised for release by Downer’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Tompkins
