Update on MBIE request for views on economic regulation of airport services under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986
The Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment (MBIE) has provided an update to those who made submissions on its recent request for viewpoints on the effectiveness of the economic regulation of airport services under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986.
MBIE has advised that at this time, it is not considering legislative change.
MBIE understands the Commerce Commission will be considering the disclosure requirements under current information disclosure regulation, following its comments in the final report on Auckland Airport’s PSE4.
To close out this process, MBIE has advised it intends to publish on its website public versions of the submissions received and proactively release MBIE’s advice on this matter in the coming weeks.
Auckland Airport now considers the MBIE process complete.
