Metro Glass organisational changes

Metro has previously announced Steve Hamer’s retirement from his role as CEO of AGG at the end of September. We are pleased to advise that Steve will continue to work for the business part time as a Strategic Advisor. He will work with Simon Bennett as we look at future growth opportunities.

We are also pleased to announce the appointment of Jason McGrath, currently the AGG CFO, as his replacement in the role of Country Manager, which mirrors the appointment of a Country Manager role in NZ.

Jason is a seasoned executive, with a strong commercial background. He was part of the AGG turnaround in his role as CFO in his 8-year tenure with the business. We are delighted to have been able to make an internal appointment for this crucial role.

Jason will report directly to Simon Bennett, who has effectively been leading the business in his role as Executive Director since May of last year. As signaled the board is appointing Simon to the role of Managing Director, which reflects the role he has been doing and gives continuity and leadership to the business as it consolidates the capital changes, and the business turnaround. Simon’s appointment is effective immediately.
