Ezi Car Rental has acquired the fleet and branches of Thrifty Car Rental after buying Motoka Rental from Australian owner Kingmill.The deal comes after the loss of its trans-Tasman brand licence from global rental giant Hertz Corporation.Kingmill is a subsidiary of the Australian auto club, National Roads and Motorists’ Association (NRMA).Ezi, which trades as NZ Leisure, took over and rebranded 19 Thrifty branches and has taken on 50 Thrifty staff from Dec 1.
