The Chart: The ethnic divide in working from home

Data from the Household Labour Force survey shows that not all demographic groups have the same capacity to work from home.In the second quarter of 2020 – a period that encompassed most of the nationwide lockdown and the move down to levels 1 and 2 – European New Zealanders were more than twice as likely to work from home than Pacific peoples, and about 50 percent more likely to work from home than Maori or Asian New Zealanders.
