New Zealanders see the news media as a far more divisive force in society than the international average, although they trust traditional news far more than social media as an information source.The latest findings of the global Edelman Trust Barometer, which interviews some 36,000 people annually in 27 countries, found that 55% of New Zealanders regarded the media as a “dividing force” in society, against 23% who thought it unifying.That compared with an international split of 46% divisive/35% unifying for that question, which is a...
