The total fees paid for financial audits by New Zealand’s largest companies rose 11% compared with last year, according to a BusinessDesk analysis.A study of the NZX50, as of Dec 9 2024, found that $53.8 million was paid for the completion of statutory audits of financial statements – a rise of $5.5m or 11.4% since last year. When additional services were included, such as sustainability reports, the fees received by auditors rose to $66.3m – an increase of $7.1m or 12.1%. In 2023, there had been an 8% rise, which so...
