A Parliamentary select committee has shot down the idea of forcing government agencies such as the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), ACC and NZ Post to accept cheques.The Labour-dominated Finance and Expenditure Committee has been considering the petition of Andrew Bayly to make government agencies take cheques and encourage banks to do the same.The National MP made the petition after a constituent, who has dyslexia, said they were finding the transition to internet banking difficult.
