RBNZ capital-settings proposals not far enough: Banking Assn

Capital settings proposals in the Reserve Bank of New Zealand’s latest consultation don’t go far enough in achieving international alignment, the national banking association says.The NZ Banking Association (NZBA) also supported higher risk adoption, which is a step away from the 2019 imperatives.“We broadly support the proposed assessment criteria for the 2025 review of key capital settings,” NZBA said in feedback for the Reserve Bank of NZ’s (RBNZ) consultation.Critics have queried the now-closed consultation'...
