Hallenstein Glasson takes millions in wage subsidy, will pay dividend

Clothing retailer Hallenstein Glasson will pay full-year dividends totalling 39 cents per share, after claiming $5.1 million in wage subsidies in New Zealand, controlling costs and seeing a boost in online sales.The listed company reported a $27.7 million profit for the year ended Aug. 1, a decrease of 4.2 percent, but said online sales grew 46.8 percent on the previous financial year.Online sales had “exceptional growth of 80.1 percent” within the second six months of the financial year, which spanned the national lockdown.The comp...
