Health NZ has greenlit AI scribes to ease the admin burden on clinicians, using voice-to-text technology to turn patient conversations into ready-to-use medical notes.Health NZ said it had been taking a precautionary approach towards AI, previously citing limited data on its utility, validity and safety.Now, the agency's National Artificial Intelligence and Algorithm Expert Advisory Group, working with national privacy and security experts, has endorsed two ambient AI scribe tools – iMedX and Heidi – for trial, says chair Robyn...
