With the shortage of Gib pushing prices up to more than $100 a sheet online, small builders are increasingly turning to alternatives.Container Door is a group-buying business that connects groups of buyers with suppliers, cutting out middlemen by sourcing products directly in bulk.Chief executive Ben Nathan said the company typically sourced consumer products, however in recent months it had been fielding more inquiries from builders seeking plasterboard.“We’re filling orders all the time,” he said.Fletcher Building subsidiary...
