The Green Party’s proposed ban on fossil-fuelled vehicle imports from 2030 needs to be a catalyst for a national plan, lobby group Drive Electric says.The proposal, published yesterday in the party’s Transport for the Future paper, highlights the risk to New Zealand’s access to electric vehicles if other, bigger right-hand drive markets ban imports of new petrol and diesel cars.
