A first-term MP from Marlborough has introduced a member's bill into the parliamentary ballot seeking to disestablish Auckland Transport and return its functions to Auckland Council.While the bill is in the name of NZ First's Jamie Arbuckle, it was his party leader, Winston Peters, who did all the talking in a press release about it.Auckland Transport (AT) wasn’t consulted ahead of the news on Thursday, and nor was Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown, BusinessDesk understands.
