Covid disruptions to court schedules made already significant delays to justice even worse, says the country's head judge.An annual report released by Chief Justice Helen Winkelmann shows how the court system has responded to the immense disruption the pandemic has caused over the past two years.The report, the first of its kind in over two decades, shows that between Aug 18 and Dec 2, 2021, there were around 53,700 events in the criminal jurisdiction deferred, including 537 district court jury trials.In the high court, 49 jury trials...
