The government has agreed to make legislative changes to ensure courts can continue operating safely and effectively as covid-19 spreads in the community.In a statement, justice minister Kris Faafoi said people physically attending courts or tribunals must have a reasonable assurance of safety so that access to justice can be maintained.While many hearings have been taking place online, there were some events where it was critical for people to attend in person, such as jury trials or sentencing.
