PwC hits back at 'vexing' CBL claim

PwC is seeking to limit what it calls a "vexatious" claim brought by the liquidator of CBL Insurance over its role as the failed insurer's appointed actuary. The accounting firm is one of several parties being sued by liquidators Kare Johnstone and Andrew Grenfell of McGrathNicol, including managing director Peter Harris and former chair John Wells. The liquidators claim PwC and actuaries Paul Rhodes and Grant Mackay were in breach of contract and negligent, alleging they were careless in their duties to CBL.
