MARKET OPEN: Trading may end week on tentative note

Trading may be tentative after Wall Street pared its gains on news that US President Donald Trump will hold a news conference on China on Friday. Wall Street turned negative on the news and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.5 percent at 8am in Wellington, while the S&P500 was down 0.1 and the Nasdaq was down 0.4 percent.  The governments of the US, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom released a joint statement overnight reiterating “deep concern” regarding Beijing’s decision to impose a national security law in Hong Kong....
