NZ dollar rises as US-China trade negotiations dominate

The New Zealand dollar firmed slightly after being batted hither and yon by news reports emanating from the China-US trade negotiations. The kiwi was trading at 63.14 US cents at 5pm in Wellington from 62.94 cents at 8am. The trade-weighted index was at 70.43 points from 70.30.
