Qantas cuts Asia services, trims NZ-Aust on virus

Qantas Airways will reduce flights across Asia – including to New Zealand - due to covid-19 and expects the virus will hit its full-year result by A$100 million to A$150 million.The airlines are taking action now to limit exposure to softening markets, Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said in a statement.According to Joyce, the capacity the airline is taking out is equivalent to grounding 18 aircraft across Qantas and Jetstar until the end of May – which impacts 700 full-time roles.
