Just one-third of New Zealanders trust the news media, according to a report from the Auckland University of Technology.Auckland University of Technology's (AUT) annual Trust in News in Aotearoa NZ report found that trust in journalism fell from 42% last year to 33% this year, a 9 percentage point decline in 12 months and 20 point drop over four years.The survey, conducted by AUT’s research centre for Journalism, Media and Democracy (JMAD), said the decline followed global trends.According to the report, New Zealanders are also a...
