I’ve long admired the Australian Government’s willingness to apply the blowtorch to Big Tech companies, willing to question their market power and enact legislation to make them accountable for their actions.That certainly comes with some risk. Australia is an important English-speaking market to the likes of Meta and Google but not too big to be dumped to make a point about perceived regulatory overreach.Regardless of who is in government, our approach on this side of the Tasman has been to leave these companies to their own device...
