The government is considering what the end of oil refining at Marsden Point will mean for New Zealand’s energy security and its response to it.Refining NZ (RNZ) recently made another step to stop refining oil with one of its shareholders - Z Energy - agreeing to the proposal to just import processed products. The deal still requires final sign off by Z’s directors and other shareholders, including BP and Mobil.
